Hundreds of guests elegantly attired in 1940s chic may have you envisioning Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman... But youre not in Morocco, youre in Menlo Park! Casablanca Night raised awareness and over $100,000 for the Bring Me a Book Foundation. The Mountain View-based organizations mission is to provide access to quality books for low-income children and families and to encourage parents to read aloud to their children. The foundation provides Bookcase Libraries (30-50 new, hardback, age-appropriate and culturally diverse books) to state-funded pre-schools, elementary schools and community centers. This event also served as the launch of our Bay Area Sweet Casino Team, and oh what a glittering beginning it was! After guests noshed on a Moroccan-themed dinner, bid on extravagant auction items and danced to the music of The Magnolia Jazz Band and The Hummers, they enjoyed another dynamite luxury... Attendants reminisced of the iconic spy series as our Bond Girl dealers added extra glamour and sizzle! We upped the ante and received smiles from the lucky guests who gambled in the artistic recreation of a Casablanca casino (burgundy and beige accented with potted palms and life-sized camel statues!) and played high stakes Texas Hold'em in a secluded back room.
